NATIONAL TAPADA OF MAFRA
The National Tapada of Mafra was created during the reign of King D. João V as a place of recreation and amusement for the court, wherein these days retains an unique natural heritage.
In total, there are more than 800 hectares where you can watch several species of flora and fauna, including animals that wander freely in their habitats.
Here, in addition to visiting on foot, horseriding or bicycle, you can also practice different activities and participate in guided tours.

MAFRA PALACE AND CONVENT
The Mafra Palace and Convent is the most important baroque building in Portugal.
Inside, you can see several of the most important portuguese and italian paintings and sculptures, not only in the walls of the Palace and the Convent but also in the Basilica.
In addition, you can also visit the Library which is one of the most important in the country and where you can find about 36.000 valuable volumes.
