The “Ajuda de Berço” portuguese Association, founded in Lisbon in 1998 by a group of friends, has the mission to witness the respect for human life and the reception of abandoned children and at risk, from birth to 3 years old. In October 2010, a period that went through major financial difficulties that put one of its two shelters at risk of closing, the Association launched a plea for help in Portugal. The wave of solidarity generated, which was manifested over the last few months has been extraordinary and exceeded the best prospects they might have. Since then, came to them more than generous quantities of goods, mainly food and hygiene. In addition to the solidarity of individuals responded to their appeal business entities, which joined his cause, helping with donations or other speeding raising campaigns in support of this Association. Responding to this call in November 2010, employees of Vila Bicuda did a fundraising among themselves for the donation of essential goods to this Association and offered the possibility to all those who also wanted to contribute, to deliver their donations in their facilities, for delivery at the institution. So it is with great honour that Vila Bicuda announces the final canvassing of 139 food and 15 units of other products, including diapers, wipes, cots, trolleys and "maxi-cosis", which were delivered in the Association the November 8, 2010. Because for those who need, help can make a difference!
